Every child should have somewhere they feel safe, noticed, and genuinely cared about. Fostering is the remarkable work of building that sense of belonging, through one everyday moment after another.

It is the small things that count. Dinner around the table, a familiar bedtime routine, giggles out in the garden. For a child in care, these ordinary moments can change everything.

On Monday 21st September at 11am, we would love you to join us for an open, informative foster care information session. It is for anyone who wants to find out what fostering is really like, and whether it might be the right path for them.

You do not need to be perfect to foster, and you do n't need to have every answer. What a child needs is stability, care, and someone who shows up consistently. Foster carers come from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, family setups, and circumstances. What matters most is that you can offer a safe and nurturing home.

The session is relaxed, honest, and completely free of pressure. Whether you are seriously thinking about fostering or just curious to know more, you are very welcome.

What We’ll Cover

During the session, our experienced team will guide you through the different types of fostering available, including emergency care, short-term placements, respite fostering, and long-term care. We will explore how fostering can work alongside a wide range of lifestyles, routines, and commitments, and what that looks like in real, day-to-day terms.

You will also gain a clear understanding of the assessment process and home requirements, as well as what Origins looks for in foster carers. We will explain how we carefully match children with families to support stability and positive outcomes, helping you build a realistic picture of what fostering looks like in practice – not just in theory.

Support for You

Fostering is a shared responsibility, and strong, consistent support is essential. During the session, we’ll outline the comprehensive support available to all Origins carers, from the very beginning and throughout your fostering journey.

This includes ongoing training and preparation, therapeutic supports for children in placement, and 24/7 access to professional guidance from our dedicated social work team. We will also explain the financial allowances provided to cover the cost of caring. Carer wellbeing, confidence, and long-term sustainability are central to how we work, and we ensure every carer feels supported, informed, and valued.

Hear Real Stories

You’ll also hear directly from an experienced foster carer, who will share their personal experience of fostering – the realities, the learning moments, and the rewards that come with providing a child with a sense of belonging.

Fostering starts with opening your home and your heart to a child who needs both. Join us on Monday 21st September 11am to explore whether fostering could be part of your story.
