For many people, fostering starts as a quiet thought. Maybe it's something you've considered for years, or maybe it only recently crossed your mind. Either way, it's a big question, and the best way to answer it is with good information, in a setting where there is no pressure to decide anything.
That is exactly what our online Information Session is for.
The session is relaxed, informal and held online, so you can join from your own sofa with a cup of tea in hand. Over about an hour, we'll cover:
There will be plenty of time for questions, and you are welcome to simply listen if you would rather not speak.
Anyone with an interest in fostering. You do not need a big house, a particular family set-up or previous experience with children. You might be single, married, renting, retired, working full-time or somewhere in between. What matters most is having room in your life and a genuine wish to help a child feel safe and valued.
If you are considering fostering with a partner, we would encourage you to join together, it is a decision that's easier to make when everyone has heard the same things.
Attending an Information Session does not commit you to anything. Many people come along to learn more, take some time to reflect, and come back to us months later. Others leave with a clear sense that fostering is right for them. Both are perfectly fine.
Every child in care needs someone willing to take that first step of finding out more. If that could be you, we would love to see you there.
