Thinking About Fostering? This One's for You.
We're hosting a free, informal online information session specifically for LGBTQ+ people who are curious about becoming foster carers. Whether you're at the very start of your thinking or you've already done a lot of research, you're welcome here.
What to expect
It's a relaxed, open conversation, not a formal presentation or an assessment of any kind. We'll talk honestly about what fostering actually involves, what the process looks like, and what it means to foster with Origins. You'll have plenty of space to ask questions, hear from others, and just get a feel for things.
No pressure, or commitment, just a chance to explore.
Why a session just for LGBTQ+ people?
Because representation matters, and so does feeling like you belong in the room. We want you to be able to ask the questions that are specific to your experience, about how the system works, what support looks like, and what fostering as an LGBTQ+ person or couple genuinely looks like in practice. This is a space where you don't have to explain yourself first.
Who is it for?
Anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ and is curious about fostering, single people, couples, even if you have never considered it until now. All are welcome.
We’ll discuss the specific need for LGBTQ+ foster carers and allies who can provide affirming, safe spaces for young people.
