Moments of connection matter. Shared meals. Quiet routines. Laughter in the garden. For children in care, these everyday experiences can be life-changing. On Wednesday, 11 February at 1pm, we invite you to join us for an open and informative foster care information session. This session is designed for anyone who wants to understand what fostering really involves – and whether it could be the right step for them.
Fostering isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about offering stability, care, and consistency to a child who needs it. People from many different backgrounds, family types, and life circumstances can foster – what matters most is your ability to provide a safe, nurturing home.
This session is relaxed, honest, and pressure-free. You’re welcome whether you’re actively considering fostering or simply curious to learn more.
During the session, our experienced team will guide you through the different types of fostering available, including emergency care, short-term placements, respite fostering, and long-term care. We’ll explore how fostering can work alongside a wide range of lifestyles, routines, and commitments, and what that looks like in real, day-to-day terms.
You’ll also gain a clear understanding of the assessment process and home requirements, as well as what Origins looks for in foster carers. We’ll explain how we carefully match children with families to support stability and positive outcomes, helping you build a realistic picture of what fostering looks like in practice – not just in theory.
Fostering is a shared responsibility, and strong, consistent support is essential. During the session, we’ll outline the comprehensive support available to all Origins carers, from the very beginning and throughout your fostering journey.
This includes ongoing training and preparation, therapeutic supports for children in placement, and 24/7 access to professional guidance from our dedicated social work team. We’ll also explain the financial allowances provided to cover the cost of caring. Carer wellbeing, confidence, and long-term sustainability are central to how we work, and we ensure every carer feels supported, informed, and valued.
You’ll also hear directly from an experienced foster carer, who will share their personal experience of fostering – the realities, the learning moments, and the rewards that come with providing a child with a sense of belonging.
Fostering starts with opening your home and your heart to a child who needs both. Join us on Wednesday, 11 February at 1pm to explore whether fostering could be part of your story.

Reach out for any questions and enquiries. A member of our fostering team will get back to you as soon as possible.
